Compound curves, such as chair slats and curvilinear table and chair legs, always present special problems for woodworkers; especially when shaping and rounding profiles. Amana’s newest creation, the Corner Rounding 3D router bit, makes rounding easier and much more efficient than using hand tools.

This is no ordinary corner rounding router bit! Standard corner rounding bits only shape stock that curves along a single plane. In contrast, this bit can round the edges of compound curves.

The unique bit features a guide bearing on the bit end as well as a guide ring around the outer perimeter of the cutting surfaces. The combination of two guides makes it a snap to round the edges of compound curves; simply follow the contour of the workpiece. The bit is specifically designed for freehand routing and will not gouge the workpiece or cut too deep. Instead, cuts are smooth and consistent in shape. And the 3D corner rounding bit is nearly four inches in length to allow shaping of sharp curves.

Like all of Amana’s high quality router bits, the 3D Corner Rounding bits are carbide tipped for edge retention and long life. The 3D bit is available in both 1/8” and 1/4" radii. Shank diameter is 1/2". For use only in table-mounted routers.
