Amana Tool Introduces Offset Mortise-and-Tenon Bits

New line ideal for glass-paneled Mission Style doors from wood and MDF

Farmingdale, N.Y. – October 14, 2008 – Amana Tool, manufacturers of high-quality tungsten carbide woodworking tools, today announced its collection of offset mortise-and-tenon bits. The bits a create smooth, clean lines for constructing offset mortise-and-tenon joints for Mission Style glass doors. Each bit features two cutters that cut a tenon with offset shoulders, which enables a quicker and easier way for glass panels to fit in rabbeted doors. The bits are manufactured from exclusive micro-grain carbide for superior cutting performance and tool longevity and are ideal for materials that are 3/4” to 1-1/8” thick.

The offset mortise-and-tenon bits allow woodworkers to easily create classic Mission Style furniture, cabinets and architectural woodwork by reducing the number of steps in the project.

The mortise-and-tenon line contains two tenon bits, one that cuts a 1/4” tenon with a 1/4” offset (item number 53630) and one that cuts a 3/8” tenon (item number 53632). To create the mating mortise, Amana Tool offers a complete selection of hollow mortising chisels as part of its Timberline series. Product number 609-120 cuts a 3/8” mortise and item number 609-100 cuts a 1/4” mortise. Amana Tool’s Super Rabbet, item number 49360 is used for shaping the rabbet for glass and is available with a complete set of accessory collars and an assortment of guide bearings to cut any size rabbet.

The offset mortise-and-tenon bits are available starting at $78.94 through Amana Tool’s authorized distributors. Also available are replacement screws, bearings and keys.  For the location nearest you, visitwww.amanatool.com.
