When cutting acrylics such as Plexiglas®, polycarbonates sucn as Lexon® and other plastics, " chip-welding" --- a melting of the material --- is a concern. But not with the Amana Tool Non-Melt saw blades. Featuring a modified triple-chip grind and a 2° negative hook angle, the blade produces less heat than a standard saw blade, leaving a crisp, smooth edge.
