Amana Tool to Showcase Latest Products at 2011 AWFS Fair

Farmingdale, N.Y. – July 20, 2010 – Amana Tool , manufacturers of industrial-quality carbide-tipped, solid carbide and replacement carbide cutting tools, today announced the company is showcasing its cutting tools during the 2011 AWFS Fair in Las Vegas.  Visitors to Amana’s booth (#4410) at AWFS, which runs from July 20 to 23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, can get a sneak peek of the company’s upcoming product catalog as well as a first-hand look at the latest additions to the company’s product line that tackle a variety of cutting challenges in materials ranging from solid wood and MDF to plastics and laminates.

Among the products on display at Amana’s AWFS booth are:

  • The In-Groove™ CNC insert engraving system (item AMS-209), an 8-piece set of the most popular In-Groove router profiles, includes industrial-quality knife shape inserts that can quickly and easily be interchanged for a variety of applications in laminated materials, veneers, MDF, plastics, wood and solid surface.
  • Amana Prestige™ circular saw blades (10” item PR1040 and 12” item PR1240) feature large, laser-cut expansion slots that virtually eliminate vibration and prevent heat buildup blade warping, as well as copper plugs that help eliminate noise. Each blade features 40 brazed carbide tips ground to a steep 20 degree bevel angle for crisp, clean cuts both with and across the grain in plywood and solid wood.
  • More than 100 different shaper cutter profiles, including carbide-tipped and insert shaper cutters for numerous applications, in particular for creating profiles, moldings, cabinetry, entry doors and flooring.  One of Amana’s most popular shaper cutter profiles is the adjustable Instile and Rail™ set (SC555), which can be used to create rattle-free Mission Style cabinet doors.
  • The collection of carbide-tipped countersinks with pilot drills (item 55202) are the only ones in the industry to feature carbide tips, which provide longer-lasting performance, smoother, cleaner cuts and no tear out in comparison to traditional steel countersinks in a variety of materials including hardwood, plywood, solid surface, and softwoods. The countersink collection also includes counterbores to create a flat-bottomed upper portion of the pilot hole instead of a tapered opening.
  • Spiral “O” flute router bits (items #51404 – plastic and #51402 – aluminum) are made of solid carbide with a mirror finish and are specially-designed for smooth, clean cutting of aluminum and plastic materials.
  • An exclusive flush trim miniature bearing router bit (item MR0102), part of a series of miniature bearing router bits that are uniquely designed with a ball bearing at the bottom end of the bit, eliminating burnout caused by brass pin-piloted bits. The bits, available in various profiles, can fit into tight spaces and sharp corners where a larger diameter bearing cannot, making it easier for users to work on finely detailed work pieces that have intricate contours, tight confines and narrow openings.

“We look forward to spending time with fellow woodworking enthusiasts during AWFS to discuss the latest developments and upcoming innovations in the industry,” said Frank Misiti, Amana Tool technical director.  “Amana has incorporated a number of these advancements in our soon-to-be released product catalog, which expands our extensive offering of industrial-quality, affordable cutting solutions that solve a variety of woodworking challenges for both professionals and hobbyists.”

Representatives will be available at the Amana booth to answer questions and discuss featured products.  For more information on AWFS, visit http://www.awfsfair.org
