Amana Tool Introduces New In-Groove Insert Engraving System for CNC Machines

Versatile System for Sign Making, Lettering & Engraving

Farmingdale, N.Y. – August 19, 2008 – Amana Tool, manufacturers of industrial-quality tungsten carbide woodworking tools, today introduced its In-Groove™ CNC insert engraving system featuring one tool body with multiple carbide insert engraving tips for a variety of applications.  In-Groove users can produce crisp, clean cuts with unique knife shapes that enable efficient chip removal allowing for improved cutting performance and faster operation.  The In-Groove system is ideal for sign making, lettering and engraving applications in laminated materials, veneers, MDF, plastics, wood, aluminum and solid surface.In-Groove CNC Insert System by Amana Tool

Amana Tool’s In-Groove™ CNC insert engraving system features industrial-quality replaceable carbide insert knives that can be replaced on the tool body while it is mounted in the CNC machine, which ensures consistent cutting accuracy by eliminating the setup process and height adjustment.  The insert knives are made from sub-micro grain carbide particles that creates a finer edge, are more resistant to wear and last at least twice as long as standard comparable solid carbide bits.  The high-grade carbide provides long-lasting, high-quality finishes and cutting performance ideal for abrasive materials such as laminated materials, veneers, solid surface, MDF, plastics and hard wood.  V- tips are also suitable for aluminum.

“The In-Groove™ system allows users to customize their CNC engraving machines with a variety of popular router profiles in a single tool, saving setup time and labor,” said Frank Misiti, Technical Director of Amana Tool. “Our high-quality carbide and manufacturing process yield a superior router bit that delivers the best possible results across the widest range of materials.”

The In-Groove™ tool body, available in 1/4” and 1/2” shank diameters, is expertly balanced and can rotate at very high speeds with virtually no vibration.  Users can choose from up to 30 different inserts that are available in v-tips of 30, 60 or 90 degrees with seven different point thicknesses, as well as other profiles including straight plunge, core box and corner round.  Custom profiles are also available.

The In-Groove™ System starts at $63.53 SUD and comprises one tool body (required) and a knife tip; additional replacement knives are $19.75 USD.  All In-Groove™ tools and accessories are available through Amana Tool’s authorized distributors.  For the location nearest you, visit www.amanatool.com.
