These EVA foam decking bits are specially designed for cutting and grooving EVA foam used in marine decking and similar applications. They create clean, precise channels with a smooth finish, helping achieve a professional look.
The larger shank sizes (3/8" and 1/2") provide added strength and stability, making them ideal for CNC machines that support larger collets. The increased rigidity helps reduce vibration, improves cut quality, and allows for more consistent performance during longer production runs.
- 3/8" Shank – A strong, stable option for mid-size CNC machines, offering excellent balance between rigidity and versatility.
- 1/2" Shank – Maximum stability and durability, ideal for larger CNC routers and high-production environments.
Recommended Feed and Speed:
- 17,000 RPM
- 200 IPM
For the best finish, we recommend running each line with two passes:
- First, make a climb cut (CW), then follow with a conventional cut (CCW).
- This two-step approach helps produce a cleaner edge and a smoother overall result.
Note - the tool should always enter in a “climb-cut” approach (see Below).where the cutting-edge slices in on the heavy side of the tool path, because slicing in on the thin side of the chip will just encourage deflection, friction and a poor cut.
