Product Questions
I'm new to the router / CNC world, so I'm just building a tool collection here to deal with scenarios that i "might" encounter.
At the moment this is an expensive hobby for me more than it is a serious business. But I'm hoping that it becomes a serious business for me.
I'm looking into doing some dovetail and chamfers in various parts and found the 61307 Insert Carbide Steel Adjustable Chamfer -90 to +90 x 150mm Dia x 50mm x 1-1/4 Bore....
Are the inserts that it is compatible with, capable of being used on other metals? Most likely aluminum, possibly some steel? I suspect not, since it does not list that directly in the description.
Essentially I'm looking for something that will allow for metal dovetails, This particular piece "looks" like it has the possibility of doing this somewhat, but the size of it seems to be something beyond what I'm really interested in. But if you could confirm my question that would be helpful.
Also if possible, is there any particular bits that would work in a CNC that would be more suitable for aluminum (or preferred, steel) dovetails?
hopefully this question isn't too rediculous :)

You are correct, this is a shaper cutter and meant for cutting adjustable chamfers, not for dovetailing.
