I also, want to make dado set grooves for the 3/4" birch, but, I found out it is 9/16". What bit would be best to use for this with my router in order to have snug fitting joints.

Cutting grooves for plywood with standard slot cutters also results in a loose fit. The solution is to use the
Amana Tool E-Z Dial slot cutter. The E-Z Dial slot cutter is accurate to .004" and adjusts by turning a dial on the end of the router bit.
