The new shrink fit chucks are high-precision toolholders designed to provide enhanced accuracy by minimizing coupling. This is achieved through a unique thermal clamping process that tightly grips the tool’s shank.

Here’s how it works: First, the collet tip is heated using a specialized shrink fit unit, which causes it to expand. The tool shank is then inserted into the collet, and the cooling machine cools the collet back to ambient temperature.
