Amana Tool’s Prestige™ Saw Blade Wins “Top Tool” Endorsement from Wood Magazine

Prestige wins editors’ approval in “Best Saw Blades Under $50”

Farmingdale, N.Y. – October 27, 2009 – Amana Tool, manufacturers of industrial-quality carbide-tipped, solid carbide and replacement carbide cutting tools, today announced its Prestige™ saw blades received “Top Tool” endorsement from the editors of Wood magazine, November 2009 issue. The Prestige PR1040, a 10” 40-tooth blade, received top marks in the general purpose category of the nearly 50 blades tested. Amana’s Prestige saw blade cuts smoother and stays sharper longer than other blades and is ideal for use in table saws for ripping and cross-cutting both solid wood and plywood.

“We are delighted to receive this honor from the editors at Wood magazine,” said Frank Misiti, Amana Tool Technical Director. “Our Prestige saw blade is another example of how Amana provides access to industrial-quality woodworking tools at the best possible prices for professional woodworkers and hobbyists.”

The Amana Prestige saw blade bodies are laser cut from 0.102” virgin steel, then flattened, ground and tensioned. Forty carbide tips are then brazed onto the plates and ground to a steep 20 degree bevel angle for crisp, clean cuts both with and across the grain. The blade design features large, laser-cut expansion slots that virtually eliminate vibration and prevent heat buildup blade warping, as well as copper plugs that help eliminate noise. Each step in the manufacturing process is computer-controlled and monitored by sophisticated inspection equipment to assure the tightest tolerances and superior quality.

Amana’s Prestige saw blades are available in 10” (PR1040) and 12” (PR1240) diameters starting at $49.00 USD through Amana Tool’s authorized distributors. For the location nearest you, visit www.amanatool.com.
